Butler grad Gross pitcher of weekCLEVELAND — Butler graduate Mark Gross, a sophomore on the Case Western Reserve baseball team, was recently named University Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week.Gross tossed a complete game four-hitter, striking out seven in a 6-1 win over Allegheny. He is 2-3 with a 3.60 earned run average overall this season.

Butler grad Evans gets PSAC honorsSLIPPERY ROCK — Butler graduate Kennedy Evans, a senior sprinter/hurdler on the Slippery Rock University track and field team, has been named PSAC Women’s Track Co-Athlete of the Week.Evans owns the sixth fastest time in the nation in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:01.13. She also ran a leg of the only NCAA provisional qualifying relay in the PSAC so far this season as a member of The Rock’s 4x400 relay unit.That relay’s time of 3:47.93 is sixth fastest in the nation.
