Freeport exploded for 18 hits — including home runs from Kristie Radvan and Maddie Wagner — in a 13-4 thumping of Armstrong in high school softball play Monday.

Ally DeJidas went 4-for-5 for the ’Jackets while Ashleigh Schmidt and Claire Crytzer were both 3-for-4.

Radvan was the winning pitcher, striking out three and walking one in a complete game.

Cameron Lindsay scored five times and Chrissy Conklin added four goals in Freeport’s 12-2 section win at Penn-Trafford.

Cassie Suran totaled 18 saves in net for the Yellowjackets (1-0-1, 1-0).

Aquinas Academy 9, Knoch 8 — Taylor Carr led the Knights with six goals. Brenna Moore scored twice.

Baseball

Andrew Dulya homered and collected three RBI in Moniteau’s 6-3 victory over Fairbanks (Ohio).

Josh Adamson added two hits, including a triple, and one RBI while Nick Sosigian went 3-for-4 with a run scored.

Lee DeMatteis worked two innings of relief for the win and Nate Sosigian picked up a three-inning save.

Butler’s two doubles duos of Tyler Bell/Trevor Bell and Jake Zangas/Reed Krueger both won in the Golden Tornado’s 4-1 victory against Gateway.
