Carole E. Brodmerkel (“Twisting History,” March 21) is exactly right about the Berlin Wall.

What made my letter wrong was what the Butler Eagle left out. I had asked the letter to be printed in its entirety. It was not. What I had written was “the Berlin Wall kept people trapped in communism.”

I trust the Butler Eagle will print this correction and make clear what I wrote. The letter had a lot left out.

Many on both sides of my family were German. The Berlin Wall was not a good thing. I am glad the wall crumbled. This was no attempt to say it was a good thing.
