Thursday — Police reported that a 17-year-old Butler girl, who they did not identify, was charged with stealing $1,510 while working as a cashier. The suspect is charged with theft in Butler County juvenile court.7:35 p.m. Tuesday — A vehicle driven by Samantha Connolly, 27, of Butler struck the back of another vehicle on Whitestown Road. The other driver, Dalton Scott, 21, of Butler, was stopped while waiting to turn onto Acre Avenue. No one was injured but both vehicles had to be towed.7:52 a.m. March 17 — A car driven by Amy Christensen, 20, of Butler rear-ended another car that was stopped to make a left turn on Whitestown Road at Stoneridge Boulevard.No one was hurt but Christensen's car had to be towed. Shawn Monper, 24, of Butler was the other driver.March 18 — Tyler Albright, 24, of Butler was charged with making a fraudulent return Feb. 2 at the Butler Commons' Walmart and trying to make another fraudulent return Feb. 7 at the same store.Albright is charged with two counts of theft by deception. Police said he also was banned from entering the store property in the future.March 17 — Police charged Joshua M. McBride, 25, of Butler in connection with a series of shoplifting incidents over a span of three days in late January at Sam's Club at Moraine Pointe Plaza.McBride is charged with three counts of felony retail theft and two misdemeanor counts of retail theft.Grove City Police5 p.m. March 15 — A 14-year-old was arrested after he allegedly sent threats to another juvenile boy via social media. The suspect, who police did not identify, faces charges of terroristic threats and harassment by communication in Mercer County juvenile county.<h3>Slippery Rock Police</h3>Tuesday — Police charged a 61-year-old New Castle man with being more than double the legal limit for alcohol when he was pulled over for speeding earlier this month at New Castle Street and Conway Drive.The suspect, Cody E. Clem, had a “strong odor” of alcohol on his breath when police got to his pickup truck. He also showed other signs of being intoxicated.He admitted, according to court documents, that he was on his way home after “a night of drinking in Slippery Rock.”Police arrested Clem after he failed field sobriety tests. A breath test subsequently showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.164 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.Clem is charged with driving under the influence and speeding.2:40 a.m. March 18 — Troy A. Hebert, 22, of Slippery Rock was arrested for drunken driving after a traffic stop on Franklin Street. Police said they pulled over the car for having a “completely obstructed” rear window.Herbert smelled of alcohol and he appeared to be under the influence, court documents said. He was taken for a breath test after failing field sobriety tests. The test showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.184 percent.Police said while investigating the case they learned that Herbert had consumed “an entire 5th of Smirnoff brand vodka mixed with orange juice in his apartment earlier that night.”In addition to DUI, he is charged with driving a vehicle with an obstructed window.<h3>State Police, Butler</h3>Wednesday — Christopher J. Dusheck, 49, of Portersville was charged with drunken driving stemming from a rollover wreck March 10 in Worth Township.Police said Dusheck lost control of his sport utility vehicle about 10:20 p.m. and overturned in the 700 block of West Park Road. A Slippery Rock Ambulance crew was already treating the suspect when troopers got there.Dusheck reeked of alcohol and appeared to be impaired, according to court documents. He told police that he was on his way home from a friend's house in Slippery Rock when he crashed.He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests and was taken to the barracks for a breath test. The test showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.163 percent, more than twice the state's 0.08 percent legal limit.Dusheck is charged with driving under the influence, driving at an unsafe speed, failing to keep right and careless driving.March 20 — Police charged Ryan J. Thompson, 23, of Slippery Rock with DUI in connection with a Jan. 14 traffic stop in Slippery Rock. Troopers said they stopped Thompson after his vehicle traveling north on Route 173 crossed into the southbound lane.While following the suspect's vehicle, police said, they also saw it cross the double yellow line three different times, according to court documents.Thompson smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests. A breath test later showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.114 percent.In addition to DUI, he is charged with disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.March 20 — Joshua H. Dick, 39, of Prospect was charged with drunken driving stemming from a suspicious vehicle call last month in Prospect.Police said they were called about 3:30 a.m. Feb. 22 to Crown Hill road near South Franklin Street for a vehicle that was parked with its engine running. Dick was found in the driver's seat and he showed signs of being intoxicated, court documents said.The suspect was eventually taken for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.108 percent.Dick is charged with driving under the influence and careless driving.2:05 a.m. March 19 — Sara Ann Smith, 19, of Slippery Rock was allegedly caught with suspected marijuana and other contraband following a traffic stop on Route 8 near Hall Road in Brady Township.Police said they pulled over the driver for not using turn signals. Smith was a front seat passenger. Troopers said they eventually got the driver's consent to search the car. The search turned up two baggies of suspected marijuana in a purse on the floor of the front seat, where Smith was seated.Also in the purse, according to court documents, was a marijuana pipe and containers with suspected marijuana and marijuana wax residue in them. Smith admitted the items were hers.She is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.<h3>State Police, Kittanning</h3>4:45 a.m. Saturday — An 18-year-old Worthington girl was caught with suspected marijuana and a marijuana bong in her vehicle at the Armstrong Junior/Senior High School in Manor Township.Drug possession charges are pending against the woman, who police did not identify.3:50 p.m. Friday — A 36-year-old Freeport woman was found with suspected marijuana after showing up in the emergency room at ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township.Police said the woman, who they did not identify, faces a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. A police report noted that the investigation continues.<h3>State Police, Mercer</h3>Saturday — An unknown shoplifter or shoplifters made off with $2,700 worth of short-sleeve shirts from the J. Crew store at Premium Outlets in Springfield Township. The theft happened between 6 and 9 p.m.
