Butler Police8:10 a.m. Sunday — A 10-year-old Butler boy was charged with recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct after allegedly putting oven cleaner in coffee given to his mother at their Mercer Street residence.The woman told police the last mouthful of the cup tasted strange. Then, while showering, her throat and stomach began to burn. She also felt dizzy and nauseated. Upon confronting her son, he admitted spiking the coffee.Butler Memorial Hospital informed the mother she sustained minor chemical burns as a result of ingesting the cleaner.

State Police, Butler3:31 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Christopher Kowal, 42, of Fenelton struck the rear of a trailer pulled by a pickup driven by Joel Barnhill, 27, of New Philadelphia in Ohio on Hooker Road in Clay Township. Kowal was cited for not driving at a safe speed. The Chicora Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.7:20 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Paige Mennor, 20, of Chicora and a pickup truck driven by Darren Perry, 28, of Butler collided on Route 68 in Fairview Township. Mennor was cited for not yielding the right of way.7:30 a.m. March 14 — Police are investigating the death of Christina Reynolds, 24, of Portersville at Lake Arthur Estates. Although Reynolds appears to have died from natural causes due to pre-existing health conditions, the investigation is open pending a toxicology report.
