CHICORA — A pickup slammed into a retaining wall along North Main Street early this morning.

Chief Cody Craig of the Chicora Volunteer Fire Department said the Chevy S-10 was totaled, but the driver did not appear to be injured.

Craig said the driver, whose name was unavailable, extricated himself from the truck, but was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital to be checked out.

The accident was reported in a 2:24 a.m. call to 911. Craig said the wall was not significantly damaged.
