DONEGAL TWP — A man was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital after falling roughly 20 feet from a tree stand in a wooded area off Manculich Lane Thursday afternoon.

Chief Cody Craig of the Chicora Volunteer Fire Department said the 19-year -old, whose name and residence were unavailable, was lying on the ground for roughly an hour before 911 was notified about the accident at 4:20 p.m.

Due to swampy conditions, firefighters had to extricate the man from the woods.

Craig said the man was conscious when loaded into the medical helicopter at the Catalpa Road landing zone. The extent of his injuries was unknown.
