Lambing, mother arrested at vacant house in Butler City

A 20-year-old man wanted in connection with the death of a 4-year-old Butler boy was arrested late Wednesday afternoon, the county district attorney has confirmed.

Keith Jordan Lambing and his mother, who authorities identified as Kristen Herold of Butler, were both found hiding in a vacant house at 213 Walker Ave. by county detectives at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, said DA Richard Goldinger.

He said the detectives were following up on a tip that Lambing, who has been sought by Butler Township police since yesterday in connection with the death of Bentley Thomas Miller, might be at the home.

Goldinger said detectives were surprised to find Lambing's mother there as well, and he expects charges to be filed against her as well.

“I don't know (with what) right now, but I would expect she is going to be charged,” Goldinger said.

Goldinger said Wednesday morning that his office is preparing to charge Lambing with one count of general homicide in the case. On Wednesday afternoon Goldinger said he expects township police to file additional charges against Lambing.

The search for Lambing commenced after emergency workers responded to a call for help from the Pullman Square parking lot near the Armco Credit Union at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. They arrived to find 4-year-old Bentley Thomas Miller unresponsive in Herold's vehicle. Miller was ultimately taken to Butler Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy found that he had bled to death, and officials subsequently ruled the boys death a homicide, but have declined to share more specific information about the boy's injuries or the manner in which they were caused.
