Kidnapping account was unfounded

A Butler Township police investigator says a social media report that a 6-month-old baby was kidnapped today was unfounded.

Lt. Matthew Pearson said that Jordan Lambing, a person of interest in the death of the infant’s 4-year-old sibling, Bentley Miller, did not take the baby. He would not elaborate on where the baby was during the time when Bentley was being rushed to the hospital.

Bentley’s grandmother was trying to reach the hospital, but pulled into the parking lot of the Armco Credit Union in Pullman Square about 10 a.m. today when Bentley became unresponsive and she called for help. Responders from Butler Ambulance Service performed CPR and rushed Bentley to the hospital.

An employee at the Super 8 Hotel on Route 8 south of Butler said that police were at the hotel for a time this afternoon, but had cleared that scene.

Bentley died at Butler Memorial Hospital.

An autopsy was set for 5:30 p.m. today.
