Don't blame the well

Regarding the water issues at Summit Township Elementary School.

To think that changing the water source will change the lead and copper readings is wrong. The current well did not test positive for lead and copper. The lead and copper is leaching from the pipes and solder in the school. I understand the pH of the water could cause the problem. If the pH is the problem, treat that problem, don’t change the water source. There are numerous water well companies that could correct the problems at the school.

Changing the water source to American Water Company will cost the school district. While they talk of a bond to pay for the tie in, we the tax payers will pay for the bond. All the residents along the line will also be required to abandon their wells and tie in.

The acting superintendent stated we need to get out of the water business. I think he is wrong, they just need competent people to run the water system.
