State Police, Butler12:21 a.m. Friday — Police said Raymond R. Andrews, 22, of Butler was arrested after a traffic stop on Monroe Street in Butler City. Police said Andrews was stopped for a summary traffic violation, and a trooper determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance and also in possession of marijuana and several items of drug paraphernalia. Police said charges will be filed pending the results of a blood test.3:45 p.m. Thursday — Between 7:40 a.m. and 3:45 p.m., police said, someone broke into a home on the 5000 block of Brown Road in Center Township, through the front door, and stole a “substantial” amount of money as well as a small amount of gold jewelry. Police said they believe the burglary is connected to several other recent burglaries in the area on the same day. Police said their investigation continues.2:30 p.m. Thursday — Police said someone broke into a home on the 500 block of Pine Tract Road in Oakland Township between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., through an unlocked window, and stole a “substantial” amount of money as well as a bottle of prescription medication. Police said they believe the burglary is connected to several other recent burglaries in the area on the same day. Police said their investigation continues.

State Police, Franklin12:29 p.m. — Police said Angela J. Cogswell, 41, of Parker, was driving on state Route 208 and approaching Scrubgrass Grange parking lot when a Ford Escape driven by Frances Hoffman, 91, of Clintonville, pulled into the path of her Dodge Neon. Police said Cogswell swerved but was not able to avoid hitting Hoffman’s vehicle head-on. A passenger in Cogswell’s car, Haylee R. Mohney, 21, of Parker, suffered suspected minor injuries in the crash, according to police. Police said Cogswell was cited for driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, and Hoffman was cited for vehicle entering or crossing road.
