Butler Twp PoliceThursday — Police charged an Allegheny County woman in connection with a call Feb. 26 for an unknown female passed out in the parking of the Red Lobster restaurant at Moraine Pointe Plaza.The suspect, Joyce Y. Lunsford, 53, of Natrona Heights, was found with drugs. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.Police Monday cited Karen S. Bowser, 54, of Sarver with public drunkenness stemming from the same incident.

Slippery Rock PoliceSunday — Police charged Trevor D. Chambers, 21, of Garrettsville, Ohio, with drunken driving stemming from a March 4 traffic stop for speeding on Kiester Road.Chambers had a “strong odor” of alcohol on his breath when police talked to him after pulling over his Jeep about 12:10 a.m., court documents said. He admitted having “a couple” of alcoholic beverages that night.The suspect was eventually taken for a breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.124 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.Chambers is charged with driving under the influence and speeding.

State Police, Butler1:10 a.m. Thursday — A traffic stop in East Butler ended with a teenager’s arrest for drugged driving and the seizure of what police described as a “significant amount of marijuana.”Police suspect Jonathan M. Tacey, 19, of Parker was under the influence of a controlled substance after they stopped his vehicle on East Butler Road. When police searched him, they found suspected marijuana.While a police report did not indicate the amount of marijuana, it noted that the weight was enough to warrant a felony possession charge.Tacey’s passenger, Braden T. Stevenson, 18, of East Brady, Clarion County, also was found with a small amount of suspected marijuana, the report said.Police said Tacey later submitted to a certified drug recognition expert’s evaluation followed by a blood test at Butler Memorial Hospital.Charges against both teenagers are pending lab results.Monday — Kelsey Jo Koller, 21, of Slippery Rock was charged with being more than 2½ times the legal limit for alcohol following a one-vehicle wreck last week in Slippery Rock.Police said they found the crash shortly after 11:15 p.m. March 7 at Route 173 and New Castle Road where Koller’s car had struck a gas station sign. A Slippery Rock Ambulance crew was already tending to the suspect.A patrol officer smelled alcohol coming from Koller and she appeared impaired, according to court documents. She was arrested after failing field sobriety tests.Koller admitted she had consumed four beers at a local bar and was driving home when she crashed.She was taken to the Slippery Rock University police station for a breath test, documents said, which showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.214 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.During the crash investigation, police also determined Koller’s car had struck a small tree in front of NexTier Bank at Main Street and Church Alley and a post in front of the sidewalk at Ginger Hill Tavern at Main and Cooper streets.In addition to driving under the influence, she is charged with failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and failing to carry her driver’s license and vehicle registration.Sunday — Joseph G. Dahl, 34, of Butler was charged with drunken driving in connection with a traffic stop last week on Route 8 in Brady Township.Police said they initially spotted Dahl’s pickup truck about 1:30 a.m. March 5 with a burned out head light. When they followed it, the truck ran off the road and crossed over the center line several times.The suspect, who had a “strong odor” of alcohol on him, failed field sobriety tests and was taken for a breath test. His blood-alcohol level was 0.122 percent, court documents said.Dahl is charged with DUI, driving without a license, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and a lighting violation.Sunday — Police charged Anna K. Anderson, 21, of Slippery Rock with DUI stemming from a traffic stop last month in Brady Township.A patrol trooper said he pulled over Anderson on Feb. 26 for driving erratically on Route 8. She reeked of alcohol, court documents said, and showed signs of being intoxicated.She was subsequently arrested after failing field sobriety tests. A breath test showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.108 percent.7:05 a.m. March 10 — Matthew C. Smith, 56, of East Brady was hurt when he crashed his pickup truck in Sugarcreek Township. Police said Smith lost control of his truck on snow- and slush-covered Route 268 and spun into an embankment, rolling onto its roof.Smith, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to ACMH Hospital with an apparent minor injury.

State Police, FranklinThursday — An unknown smash-and-grab burglar proved the adage that crime doesn’t pay when he ended up stealing an empty cash box from a Sugarcreek restaurant.The crook sometime between 11:05 p.m. Wednesday and 5:36 a.m. Thursday got into the King’s Family Restaurant on Allegheny Boulevard by smashing out a window. Inside, the suspect removed a cash drawer and fled out the same shattered window.The cash box, however, turned out to be empty. Police later found the discarded container in the rear parking lot.According to a police report, tracks in the snow indicated the suspect parked in a nearby parking lot across from the OMG Americas business on Two Mile Road.Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to call police at 814-676-6596.

State Police, Kittanning1:22 p.m. Wednesday — An unknown hit-and-run driver caused a two-vehicle crash at Glade Drive and Nolte Drive in East Franklin Township. The unknown driver did not stop.The other driver, Matthew P. Bowser, 44, of Cowansville, was driving a sport utility vehicle. The vehicle sustained minor damage.8:58 p.m. Tuesday — A 58-year-old Cabot man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he was found passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle on Furnace Run and Pine Run roads in South Buffalo Township.Police did not identify the man, who was taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township for a blood test. DUI charges are pending lab results.8:45 p.m. March 9 — One person was hurt in a three-vehicle wreck on Route 28 north in O’Hara Township, Allegheny County. The drivers were Linda Waddell, 57, of Lower Burrell, Westmoreland County; Daniel C. Trilli, 28, of New Stanton; and Robert W. Peters Jr., 50, of Cabot.Waddell was taken to UPMC-St. Margaret hospital in Pittsburgh with unknown injuries. No other information was released in a news release.

State Police, Mercer12:50 p.m. Sunday — One person was hurt in a two-vehicle wreck in Worth Township, Mercer County.The collision happened, police said, when Jenna J. Herbert, 30, of Franklin drove her sport utility vehicle into the path of another SUV at Route 965 and Sandy Lake Grove City Road.Herbert’s vehicle spun out and ended up against a utility pole guide wire. The other vehicle, driven by Elliott D. Reagle, 43, of Pittsburgh, traveled another 150 feet after the crash before stopping on the side of the road. Both vehicles had to be towed.Reagle, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered an apparent minor injury. Police cited Herbert for a stop sign violation.
