Butler's varsity rifle team placed seventh overall and Luke Montag finished sixth individually as the final results of the state tournament have been released.

Montag's total score was 47.8. State champion Luke Brambley of Woodland Hills had a 410.8.

The Golden Tornado's Matthew Corlew placed 21st individually with a 401.1.

Woodland Hills won the team championship with a 1022.2, followed by Everett at 1015, East Stroudsburg South 1014.8, Emmaus 1014.6, Hempfield 1013.6, Trinity 1013.5 and Butler 1004.8. Rounding out the top 10 were Southern Lehigh, Conemaugh and Chestnut Ridge.

Montag led the Golden Tornado's team scoring with 203.5. Ally Arbanas shot a 201.6, Gabe Slagle a 201.3, Jason Hansotte 199.4 and Tiffany Carlson 199.

Butler last finished among the top three in 2008, finishing third behind Mt. Lebanon and Avella that season.
