Girl Scouts from Troop 28843 of Butler stand next to the Little Free Library they built in the Connoquenessing Park.

Girl Scouts from Troop 28843 of Butler built a library box that will allow local residents free access to books.

After the plan's approval by the Connoquenessing Borough Council, the Scouts built the Little Free Library 48082 in the Connoquenessing Park.

One Scout's grandfather assisted the girls with the building of the box, which operates on give-and-take basis.

The project benefited the Scouts as their Take-Action Project for their World of Girls Journey.

The Scouts plan to add to the library later by planting a garden, building a bench and painting a mural on the wall behind the box.
