U.S. Army Lt. Col. Nathaniel Tagg was promoted to lieutenant colonel at a ceremony Feb. 21 at Fort Hood, Texas.

A 1996 Butler High School graduate, Tagg was active in the JROTC and ROTC programs. He later graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 2000, departing with the rank of second lieutenant.

He is the nephew of Gary Tagg of Butler.

U.S. Air Force Airman Charity F. McGrady graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

A 2016 Karns City Junior Senior High School graduate, McGrady is the daughter of Patrick McGrady of Karns City.
