Motorcycle driver injured in Cranberry Township

A male motorcycle driver was injured in a two-vehicle accident Friday night at the intersection of Franklin Road and Route 228 in Cranberry Township.

The accident was reported at 6:48 p.m., according to county 911 records.

The driver, whose name was not immediately available, was transported to a nearby hospital by Cranberry Township EMS with unknown injuries, Cranberry Fire Chief David Mack said.

Township police responded to the accident to find the man conscious and alert, but on the pavement in the middle of the intersection.

The second vehicle, which was also towed, was able to drive away from the scene and safely pull over to the side of the road.

Traffic was restricted for about 30 minutes. Township police are investigating the accident.
