Guatemalan DUI suspect arrested

ZELIENOPLE — A man was found in his vehicle allegedly under the influence of alcohol and with fresh cuts on his body.

Police say Nicolas C. Brito, 24, was found lying in his Toyota Camry on the morning of Feb. 14 in the professional building parking lot by Route 19. He was identified with his Guatemalan identification, according to police reports.

Brito was found with cuts on the rear of his head and his forearms.

He was tested positive for alcohol via a preliminary breath test and transported via Harmony EMS to UPMC in Cranberry Township, police said.

Five stitches were used to close the cut on the rear of his head.

Brito’s address is listed as being in Atlanta, Ga., according to court papers. Borough Police Chief Jim Miller said this could be a false address and International Migration Services is investigating the incident.

“He (Brito) said he was in a fight,” Miller said. “He couldn’t really speak much though. He mostly spoke Spanish.”

Miller also said the Camry had damage and that the actual owner of the vehicle was deported.

Brito’s misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence were held Tuesday for county court, where he will be arraigned on April 10.

He is in Butler County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
