Suspected drug dealer arrested at school lot

Max Glazer

ADAMS TWP — A suspected drug dealer is jailed after he was found slumped over in the driver's seat of a car full of narcotics and other contraband at a Mars Middle School parking lot.

And judging by the number of calls and text messages the suspect got on his cell phone while police investigated Wednesday afternoon, business was apparently good.

Adams Township police during the arrest seized suspected heroin, cocaine, marijuana, prescription pills, a scale and other contraband.

Max Glazer, 25, of Pittsburgh is being held in the Butler County Prison on $40,000 bail. He faces felony and misdemeanor drug charges.

Patrolman Christopher Kopas was driving on Three Degree Road just before 4 p.m. when he spotted Glazer unresponsive in a car in the lot near the field house.

Despite being passed out, he still had hold of his cell phone.

When Glazer eventually came to and opened the driver's door, police said, the officer noticed what appeared to be a bundle of stamp bags of heroin.

The suspect told Kopas that he was waiting for a buddy. A short time later, he claimed he was driving to meet his girlfriend.

Police said they suspected the defendant was impaired. He later failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for drugged driving.

Glazer was searched and found carrying a glass vial of suspected cocaine and $570 in currency.

A search of the car turned up a cache of suspected drugs, documents said, including 45 bags of heroin, 106 grams of marijuana inside several vacuum-sealed bags, cocaine, marijuana wax and Xanax pills.

Additionally, police found empty heroin stamp bags and other drug packing materials, several suspected drug-snorting straws and a digital scale.

While police searched the car, Kopas said, Glazer's several text messages and 19 missed phone calls were logged onto his cell phone.

He was later taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results are pending.

District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Glazer on a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

He also faces several misdemeanor charges, including driving under the influence of a controlled substance, four counts of possession of a controlled substance, as well as possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

A preliminary hearing is set of Feb. 28 at the office of District Judge Wayne Seibel in Evans City.
