The Slippery Rock University men's basketball team strengthened its position for the upcoming PSAC playoffs with a 64-60 win at Edinboro Wednesday night.

The Fighting Scots managed a slim 51-49 lead with just over seven minutes to play in the game. SRU's Khyree Wooten then sank a trey and Edinboro did not see the lead again.

Naquil Jones scored 19 points to lead The Rock (14-13, 10-11), Wooten added 15 and Christal Malalu 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Women's Basketball

SRU fell behind 47-14 by halftime and suffered a 90-46 setback to Edinboro.

Karns City High School product LeeAnn Gibson led The Rock (9-18, 6-15) with 11 points and C.C. Dixon scored 10.
