Man charged in corruption of minors

JACKSON TWP — Police say a New Castle man inappropriately touched a preteen boy and threatened him if he told anyone.

Jonathan P. Amos, 19, allegedly touched the 12-year-old male victim in a bathroom stall at the Conway Sportsman’s Club on Magill Road in August.

The boy was at the Sportsman’s Club for a family reunion.

The boy told Amos, who was 18 at the time, to stop. Amos told him that if he told anyone about the encounter, he would burn down the victim’s house.

Charges were filed against Amos earlier this month. These include one felony count of corruption of minors and misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats and indecent assault of a minor.

Amos waived charges Tuesday to county court, where he will be arraigned on April 4.

He is currently being held in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $2,500 bail.
