Butler PoliceTuesday — Police charged Breton W. Kime, 48, of Butler with being four times the legal limit for alcohol last week when they found him in a parking lot on East Cunningham Street.A call about 1 p.m. Feb. 16 for a man passed out in a car at the lot next to Elliott’s Tire Service sent emergency crews there. A Butler Fire Department crew arrived first and found the suspect with the car key in the ignition, according to court documents.Police said the suspect, who reeked of alcohol, was wearing only one shoe. He told police that he had driven to the lot from Somerset County.Kime was taken for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.32 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law. He is charged with driving under the influence.

Butler Twp Police4:34 a.m. Wednesday — David Giesler, 57, of Butler was hurt when his car crashed on Whitestown Road near the entrance to the Vagabonds. The vehicle went off the road, hit an embankment and rolled onto its roof.Giesler, who told police that he lost control of his vehicle while reaching for his wallet, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Butler Township Volunteer Fire District 3 assisted at the scene.Tuesday — Police charged Steven R. Parsons, 32, of Butler with concealing his whereabouts and the whereabouts of his 1-year-old son following a case of alleged domestic violence in Westmoreland County.Parsons is accused of failing to cooperate with the Butler County Children and Youth Services agency and law enforcement authorities as they investigated allegations of child abuse involving the infant.Police said the defendant, who had a protection from abuse order against him, also was wanted on an arrest warrant.The suspect eventually was arrested at his parents’ house in Allegheny County, according to a police report, “after constantly lying about being in Cleveland, Ohio.”Butler Township police charged Parsons with obstruction and concealing the whereabouts of a child, both felonies. He also is charged with flight to avoid apprehension, trial or punishment, a misdemeanor.Tuesday — Sydney M. Panza, 19, of Ellwood City was charged with stealing a purse Jan. 18 from a customer’s shopping cart at the Walmart at Butler Commons.Police said while they investigated the theft, they determined that Panza had made a false return of $60 in merchandise at the same store.She is charged with theft by unlawful taking and theft by deception.Tuesday — Police reportedly charged a 14-year-old Butler boy with breaking into two vehicles Feb. 10 at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center parking lot and on Whippo Avenue.One of the vehicles at Sunnyview was damaged in the break-in and the owner’s credit and bank cards were taken. At least one of those cards was fraudulently used.Police charged the youth in Butler County Juvenile Court with two counts each of access device fraud and theft from a vehicle, identity theft, receiving stolen property, loitering or prowling at night, possessing instruments of crime and criminal mischief.In a news report, police reminded owners to keep their vehicles locked and to keep their valuables from plain view.6:05 p.m. Friday — Lisa M. Philbrook, 21, of Butler was caught allegedly shoplifting $243.21 worth of merchandise at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. She is charged with retail theft.

Grove City Police8:14 p.m. Feb. 14 — A California woman was caught with suspected marijuana and other contraband at a house on State Street. Police said the suspect, Heather M. Alverson, 32, of Sacramento, also was high on drugs.Alverson was arraigned on charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and placed in the Mercer County Jail on $10,000 bail.

State Police, ButlerFeb. 16 — Teia Marie Neely, 35, was charged with suffering a drug overdose earlier this month while caring for her children at their home in Worth Township.Emergency crews were called about 10:35 a.m. Feb. 5 to the home in the 800 block of New Castle Road where they found the suspect’s children crying. Paramedics were still trying to revive Neely when police got there, according to court documents.While at the house, troopers noticed 13 stamp bags of suspected heroin, two metal straws with suspected drug residue, a used syringe and what appeared to be a drug cooking spoon.Neely is charged with child endangerment, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
