Slippery Rock Police 1:37 a.m. Feb. 12 — Christopher T. Reeseman, 21, of Slippery Rock was nearly three times the legal limit for alcohol after he was pulled over on North Main Street for driving the wrong way on Midway Alley.Reeseman, who appeared under the influence, admitted he had three beers and was on his way to pick up friends at a local bar, according to court documents.He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. During the walk-and-turn test, documents said, he told police, “I couldn’t do this sober.”Police took Reeseman for a breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.223 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.He is charged with driving under the influence and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.12:29 a.m. Feb. 12 — A Washington County man was arrested for suspected drunken driving after he was stopped on Cornish Drive. Police said the suspect, Joseph A. Wagner, 21, of McDonald was driving a car with no lights on.Wagner denied drinking even through the arresting officer noted smelling a “strong odor” of alcohol coming from him, documents said. A portable breath test also indicated the presence of alcohol in his system.He failed a series of field sobriety tests and was taken to the Slippery Rock University police station for a breath test, which revealed his blood-alcohol level was 0.152 percent.In addition to DUI, Wagner is charged with driving an unregistered vehicle, driving a vehicle without valid inspection and a lighting violation.

State Police, ButlerTuesday — Dakota M. Taylor, 23, of Butler was charged with drunken driving stemming from a Dec. 11 traffic stop in Slippery Rock Township.Police said they stopped Taylor’s car about 2:30 a.m. on Route 173 for having a burned out headlight. While speaking to the suspect, court documents said, the trooper smelled alcohol on his breath.He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. A toxicology report received Feb. 10 showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.114 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.Taylor is charged with driving under the influence and a lighting violation.Tuesday — Police charged an Allegheny County teenager with drugged driving in connection with a traffic stop last month in Slippery Rock Township.The suspect, Cedric D. Bowen, 18, of Oakdale, was pulled over for failing to turn off his high beam lights with oncoming traffic near the Route 108 and Route 173 intersection.Police smelled a “strong odor” of marijuana coming from Bowen’s car, according to court documents. He admitted smoking two bowls of marijuana 20 minutes before driving. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.The results of the test were no disclosed in the defendant’s complaint.Bowen is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and not using low beams.Feb. 9 — A Pittsburgh woman was charged with lying on her application to buy a handgun last year at a Summit Township gun store.Nicole A. Lipscomb, 43, landed in trouble, according to court documents, when she filled out the required federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives form on March 28, 2016, when she tried to buy a .380-caliber pistol at Sportsman’s Supply Company.She denied on the form that she had ever been convicted of a felony. She also denied being a fugitive from justice.The information she supplied was entered into the Pennsylvania Instant Check system, an automated system by which gun dealers can determine if someone can legally buy a gun in Pennsylvania.The PIC system rejected the would-be purchase. Police later learned that Lipscomb has a felony conviction. She also was wanted on two warrants out of Allegheny County.She is charged with unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor.Tuesday — Police charged Sharron R. Gerken, 33, of Butler with having medication without a prescription stemming from a 2015 two-vehicle wreck in Butler. Gerken was one of the drivers in the crash at Main and Brady streets May 20, 2015.When police got there, they smelled marijuana coming from the suspect’s minivan, according to court documents. A search of the vehicle turned up more than two dozen prescription pills in two containers.Gerken is charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. Documents did not indicate why it took so long to file the misdemeanor charge.

State Police, MercerFriday — An unknown burglar stole a gas can from a storage shed at a 49-year-old woman’s home on Jones Street in Sandy Lake Township. The break-in happened between Feb. 17 and Friday.
