More than we paid for

Will Pennsylvania charge $25 per residence as a whole household or $25 per resident inside each house?

At any rate, even though it seems unconstitutional, it would be a very fast way to eliminate all our local township police across the state, which would make all our local budgets richer.

Just let the state police protect us for 25 bucks a year.

Maybe we should check for pitfalls with such a daring idea. For instance, it used to be illegal to apply a tax on top of a tax, even if you call it a fee for the same state service.

Could that $25 fee qualify for a federal tax deduction for all of us? Which kind of creates free-er state police protection.

And since the federal government is then subsidizing the cost of our state police protection, it can be deemed a military police.

President Trump could become our chief state commander. We could eliminate our governor, as our state could become just a large federal district instead of a commonwealth.

Wow, our military state police could be operating under martial law, and we could build walls to keep out demonstrators (I know I’m losing my mind). But since the creators of our Constitution are all dead, we don’t have to abide by what they wrote; now we can interpret just what they meant to say.

It’s OK to keep laughing at my wild imagination as it runs out of reality. But be aware that one tiny spark from a $25 fee could burn down a whole forest of wood-headed politicians.
