County leaders receive awards

Amanda McCollough
Chamber honors Eyecare, Bowlaway

RICHLAND TWP — The Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber handed out honors Feb. 9 at its meeting and awards ceremony for 2016 at The Washington Place at St. Barnabas Health System.

The Distinguished Business Award was given to Dittman Eyecare. It was honored for its customer service, business operations and practices, for being a leader in the field of optometry, and for community involvement and service to the chamber.

Dittman Eyecare of downtown Butler expanded with a branch office in Cranberry Township in September.

Amanda McCollough, the marketing director for Dittman Eyecare, was named the Young Professional of the Year. This honor goes to a professional under age 40 who demonstrates professional capabilities, leadership and service.

“It was unexpected,” McCollough said of the honor.

McCollough also was elected in November to serve on the chamber's board of directors for the next three years.

The Business Leader Award was presented to Tricia Pritchard, director of sales, marketing and events for Family Bowlaway Fun Center and the 11th Frame Bar and Grille in Butler. Pritchard was given the award for exhibiting honesty, sincerity and integrity while bettering the community.

Pritchard is responsible for the venue's business development and has been an active member of the chamber for three years. The 11th Frame Bar and Grille recently began hosting a monthly chamber networking event.

The Women Entrepreneur Excellence Award was given to Tracy Armstrong, founder and owner of North Pittsburgh Greeting Co. in Cranberry Township. Armstrong's company connects new residents with local businesses.

Armstrong was honored for achievement in running a business as well as contributing to the community and local economy.

The Outstanding Volunteer Service Award went to Robert O'Friel of Luttner Financial Group in Pittsburgh.

Chamber Executive Director Jim Boltz announced that the chamber increased membership by an average of 14 members per month with 15 percent of current members serving on committees.

Through the Educational Stakeholder Program, the chamber partnered with five universities to better prepare future business leaders.
