Butler Police8:24 p.m. Monday — A 29-year-old Butler man suffered an apparent heroin-related overdose at a home on the 400 block of West Penn Street. Paramedics had to administer two doses of Narcan before the man, whose name was not immediately released, regained consciousness.Authorities said the man had recently been staying at the house with his mother, who called 911 after finding him unresponsive and not breathing in the bathroom. A hypodermic needle was reportedly found in the bathroom.The man refused treatment at the hospital after being revived. The Butler Fire Department and Butler Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.7:21 p.m. Friday — Allison L. Schrey, 18, of Connoquenessing Township was arrested after police say she assaulted her boyfriend during a domestic dispute at his home on the 300 block of Liberty Street.The alleged victim, Edward Miller, told police that Schrey “smacked him in the face with an open hand,” according to court documents. Officers noted that Miller had scratches on both side of his neck.Schrey was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bail.

Adams Twp Police9:41 p.m. Wednesday — A 29-year-old man suffered an apparent heroin-related overdose at this home on Downieville Road. Paramedics used three doses of the opioid antidote Narcan to revive the man, who police did not identify.A relative who lives with the man called 911 to report he was unconscious and not breathing. Police found near the man assorted drug contraband, including nine empty stamp bags of suspected heroin, a syringe, two marijuana pipes, a scale and straw.Police said the man, who was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry for further treatment, would not be charged due to a state law that grants immunity based on an overdose response.

Butler Twp Police1 p.m. Sunday — Nicholas A. Massella, 21, of Butler Township was arrested after throwing a rifle round at a neighbor during an argument on the 100 block of Spooner Drive. The suspect also threatened the neighbor, telling him “the next time (the ammunition round) was going through his head,” according to a police report.Police said after Massella was placed in handcuffs, his father, Larry Massella, 64, of Butler Township, also was arrested for interfering with officers. The younger Massella at some point broke free from police and tried to help his father.Nicholas A. Massella was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats, obstructing the administration of law, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.The elder Massella faces charges of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.1:10 p.m. Friday — Two people were hurt in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction accident on Route 8 at Hansen Avenue. The crash happened when a car driven by Justin R. Mack rear-ended a vehicle driven by Taylor Slater, 19, of Butler.In turn, according to a police report, Slater’s vehicle was forced into the back of a vehicle driven by Zackery Rodgers, 22, of Butler.Slater and Rodgers were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor to moderate injuries. All three vehicles had to be towed. Butler Township Fire District 3 and Butler Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.Police cited Mack for following too closely to another vehicle.Wednesday — Brittany A. McCorry, 31, of Butler was charged with drunken driving in connection with a one-vehicle rollover wreck last month on Greenwood Drive. McCorry’s sport utility vehicle about 1 a.m. Jan. 28 ended on its roof.The suspect, who suffered a minor injury in the crash, is charged with driving under the influence and driving at an unsafe speed.

State Police, Butler7:10 p.m. Saturday — Laura J. Walter, 55, of Boyers was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Eau Claire and Black roads in Marion Township. Police said they found Walter after being called to assist a motorist who had driven off the road.Feb. 5 — Police reported they are investigating a case of forgery that began with the theft of a check last year in Summit Township. The check was taken from a vehicle at a 52-year-old man’s home on Dreher Farm Lane sometime between Oct. 18 and Dec. 12.The check was later forged and cashed on Jan. 19 at a bank in Wheeling, W.Va.Feb. 3 — Colby J. Clouse, 38, of Oakland Township was charged with being more than three times the legal limit for alcohol stemming from a traffic stop last month in Donegal Township.Police about 7 p.m. Jan. 29 stopped the suspect in the driveway of a Bish Road home after a motorist notified them of a man in a pickup truck driving erratically on Route 68 just west of Chicora.Clouse, who had a “strong odor” of alcohol on his breath, admitted having consumed 10 beers at a nearby bar, according to court documents. When police asked him to perform field sobriety tests, he refused, telling troopers, “What’s the point? I know I’m over the limit.”He knew what he was talking about, documents said. A breath test showed his blood-alcohol was 0.255 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.Clouse is charged with driving under the influence, failing to keep right, failing to use turn signals and careless driving.

State Police, Franklin12:36 a.m. Monday — A Butler County man was hurt in a one-vehicle wreck in Irwin Township. Jamal M. Zaghab, 51, of Cranberry Township suffered a minor injury when he lost control of his minivan on Interstate 80 and struck an embankment.Zaghab, who was wearing a seat belt, was cited for driving too fast for conditions, according to a police report.

State Police, MercerMonday — Police reported they are investigating a case of access device fraud during which someone used a 41-year-old Grove City man’s bank debit card at discount stores in Butler County.The victim’s card Jan. 31 was illegally accessed to make purchases at two different Dollar General stores in Butler Township. A police report did not indicate if there are any suspects.Sunday — An unknown burglar broke into a 59-year-old man’s home on Arnold Palmer Drive in Pine Township, Mercer County. The burglary happened Saturday or Sunday. A police report did not indicate if any property was taken8:37 p.m. Saturday — A woman, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township. Police said DUI charges are pending lab results.Wednesday — Three computers and a television were stolen from the Walmart on West Main Street Extension in Pine Township, Mercer County.In another suspected shoplifting, a Garmin navigation system was taken from the same store. A police report did not say if there are any suspects in the cases.Feb. 3 — A thief stole about $100 in currency after vandalizing a vending machine at the Interstate rest area in Plain Grove Township, Lawrence Township. The vandalism and theft, which happened between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m., remains under investigation.
