JOHNSTOWN — Butler High School graduate Brea Suchonic, a senior on the Penn State Altoona women's bowling team, was named to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference All-Tournament Team following her effort at the conference championship event over the weekend at Richland Lanes.

Suchonic tallied an average of 8.64 pins per frame in baker matches and an average of 160.2 in traditional matches.

Local athletes aid Behrend's effort

Three Butler County natives helped spark Penn State Behrend's women's track and field team at the Dragon Invite held Saturday at Tiffin University.

Butler High graduate Paige Allen placed second in the 200-meter dash (25.89 seconds) and fifth in the 60 dash (7.93).

Allen also joined three teammates, including Knoch product Ashlyn Carlsson, as the Lions were first in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:09.84.

Another Knoch graduate, Jenna Shelton, was part of the winning 4,000 relay team (13:04.69).
