BHS junior earns Eagle rank

Mitchel Ray

Mitchel Ray, 16, the son of Carl and Lynne Ray, attained the rank of Eagle Scout in July.

Mitchel passed his board of review July 27. He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 482, which is chartered by the Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Co. and under the leadership of Scoutmaster, Rob Deemer.

Mitchel completed his Eagle project in April 2016. He planned and organized the building of three covered structures at Connoquenessing Community Park. These included two double-sided benches and an announcement board.

Mitchel began his Scouting career in 2006. He has served in numerous positions including webmaster, scribe, quartermaster, troop guide, assistant senior patrol leader and senior patrol leader. He is Troop 482’s junior assistant scoutmaster.

Mitchel has earned 55 merit badges. He has received numerous awards, including his first Gold and Bronze Eagle Palms. He is working on the Honors Oakleaf from Camp Bucoco. He was accepted as camp staff at Camp Bucoco for his second term.

Mitchel is a junior at Butler High School. He is the grandson of George and Sonia Ray and Mary Lou Tristani and the late John Tristani.
