Seneca Valley named to AP honor roll again

JACKSON TWP — The Seneca Valley School District has been named to the seventh annual Advanced Placement District Honor Roll.

The honor came from the College Board, according to Linda Andreassi, district communications director.

“According to the College Board, reaching these goals demonstrates that Seneca Valley is successfully identifying motivated, academically prepared students who are prepared for Advanced Placement,” Andreassi said.

She said this is the third consecutive year the school district has been named to the honor roll and thanked teachers, administrators and staff members for their efforts.

Seneca Valley is one of 433 school districts named to this year's honor roll.

To be included, the school district had to increase the number of students participating in AP since 2014, while also increasing or maintaining the percentage of students earning AP Exam scores of three or higher.

Eric DiTullio, school board vice president, said being on the honor roll will help “directly” with college savings for parents of students taking AP classes and scoring three or higher.

“You get college credits, in essence,” he said.
