The Butler Junior High wrestling team placed sixth at the 35-team Southside Tournament recently.

Golden Tornado heavyweight Caleb Harting won his weight class, pinning all three of his opponents. Steven Green at 130 pounds and Nate McMaster at 110 were runner-ups.

Ethan Barsotti placed fifth at 85 pounds. Greg Schultz at 185 and Shawndell Zapata at 210 placed sixth.

Butler will compete at the North Allegheny Invitational this weekend.

In other action:

Several Butler elementary wrestlers placed at tournaments last weekend. Levi Donnel went 10-0 at the Tyrant Duals Tournament in York. Santino Sloboda took first in the 10-under/60 division at the Freedom Battle for the Belt Open in Freedom,

Ryan Collins took first in that same invent in the 8-under/60-pound division. Troy Ritson took second at 10-under/95 pounds, Sutton Stoner third at 8-under/75 and Noah Chupka third at 8-under/80 pounds.
