Moniteau's Pry nets record 47 points in win

Lake Pry set a school record with 47 points as the Moniteau boys basketball team rolled to a 70-27 win over Forest Area Wednesday night.

Pry broke the record of 44 points held by Ray Rossi.

Pry also had eight rebounds.

Jared Lominski scored eight points and Jake Jewart added five points, nine assists, eight rebounds and five steals for the Warriors (8-8).

Slippery Rock 53, Keystone 35 — Ryan Dutton scored 15 points to lead a balanced scoring attack for the Rockets.

Nick Wherthy added 14 points and Luke Brandon 13 for Slippery Rock.

Armstrong 60, Freeport 48 — Ben Beale scored 14 points, but the Yellowjackets couldn’t rally in a section loss.

Evan Scaffhauser added 11 points for Freeport.

Clarion-Limestone 78, A-C Valley 37 — Jeff Ginn and Kody Wolfe each scored 10 points to pace the Falcons.

Wolfe also had five steals and five assists.

Bowling

Nicole Nebel rolled a 606 series with high games of 224 and 215 as Butler wrapped up the North Section championship with a 7-0 sweep of Knoch.

Ashley McCue had a 586 series of the Golden Tornado and high game of 211 and Abby Kyle had a high game of 202.

The Butler boys also swept Knoch 7-0.

Chris Huff rolled a 572 series and Nick Huff had a high game of 214 for Butler.

Wrestling

Dionte Tate (145 pounds), Mike Signore (182) and Tyler Stein (195) won decisions as Summit Academy edged South Allegheny 33-31.

The Knights have reached the playoffs for the first time in school history.
