Maria Rose Hartmann Goodzinski

Maria Rose Hartmann Goodzinski of Harmony passed away Saturday at home surrounded by family.

Maria was born Nov. 11, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Hartmann and Rosa Mussig Hartmann.

Maria graduated from Evans City School in 1958 and from Pinkerton Business School in 1960. She worked for Warrendale Clinic and Lava Crucible. She also worked for the family business, Hartmann's Summer Resort Inc. Deep Valley Golf Course, from age 10 until she retired in 2012. She truly loved the people she met while working at the golf course. She greeted everyone with a smile, “Hello” and “How are you today?”

She was also known for her gift of hospitality, which often involved a hot meal, a tray of cookies or flowers to brighten someone's day. She truly had a heart of gold and the gift of giving. Maria enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the years, which included many international destinations that allowed her to visit family and friends.

Maria is survived by her companion, John “Jack” Snyder; her son, Charles N. (Krista) Goodzinski; her daughter, Melissa Rose (companion, Curtis Hand) Goodzinski; her grandchildren, Courtney Rose, Hayden Joseph and Joel Taylor Goodzinski and Ian Joseph Goodzinski Hartmann; her sister, Gertrude Victoria Hartmann Fielder; her sister-in-law, Linda Tice Hartmann; her nieces and nephews, Kimberly Ann Fielder Taylor, Stacy Ann Hartmann, and Eric and Christine Hartmann Lindauer, and Leigh Ann Hartmann; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Jada Taylor, and Luke and Gerhard Lindauer; and Jack Snyder's children, Deborah (Randy) Collier, and Mike and David Snyder.

In addition to her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Charles N. Goodzinski; her brother, Gary J. Hartmann; her uncle, Gerhard “Uncle” Hartmann; her companion, James Kraus; and her cousins, Julian Mussig and Lorraine Somburg Mussig.

GOODZINSKI — A memorial Mass for Maria Rose Hartmann Goodzinski, who died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Gregory Catholic Church or VNA Inpatient Hospice, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
