Warrior girls net 52-47 win

Moniteau outscored host North Clarion 17-5 in the third quarter, sparking the Warriors to a 52-47 girls basketball win Wednesday evening.

Senior forward Kristina DeMatteis starred in the victory, tallying 28 points, eight rebounds and seven steals.

Alazia Greaves added 17 points for Moniteau (11-2) and Emma Bair eight rebounds.

Cranberry 57, A-C Valley 44 — The Falcons (6-4) were led by Olivia Boocks and Ellie Thompson, who scored 15 and 13 points, respectively.

Bowling

Both Butler teams continued to dominate with 7-0 sweeps of Seneca Valley.

In the boys’ competition, the Golden Tornado (7-0) were paced by Nick Huff’s 623 series and high game of 235. Ed Augustine led all bowlers with a 238 single game and added a 201.

Zac Twentier and Shawn Marcellus both rolled a single game of 203.

Mercedes Belch led the way for Butler’s girls (7-0), rolling a 571 series. Nicole Nebel had a 558 series and Abby Kyle a 528.

Maddie Ferringer paced SV with a 516 series.

Wrestling

Despite four straight pins from Hunter Cascio (126 pounds), Chris Butler (132), Lucas Laughner (138) and Max Freyermuth (145), Knoch was done in by five forfeit losses in a 39-34 defeat to Highlands.

Eric Green (170) also earned a pin for Knoch.
