Symphony to play 'Great Romantics'

Tanya Satteson will be the featured artist when the Butler County Symphony Orchestra performs its “Great Romantics” concert Feb. 4.

The Butler County Symphony Orchestra continues its 68th season on Feb. 4 with “Great Romantics,” featuring soloist Tanya Satteson on violin.

Concertmistress of the orchestra, Satteson is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music where she earned her master's degree in violin performance.

She has worked as a member of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, a member of the Cleveland Pops Orchestra, and has worked with the Academy Chamber Orchestra in Pittsburgh for the past three years.

Satteson served as an early childhood music and violin faculty member at the Center for Young Musicians in Wexford from 2007 to 2013. As a faculty member, she performed many solo community concerts and collaborated with her colleagues in chamber music performances.

Satteson lives in Cranberry Township with her husband, Jason, and their sons, Mylan and Ari.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with a pre-concert lecture at 6:30. Tickets are available at the symphony office, 259 S. Main St., between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays; and at www.butlersymphony.org. Cost is $20.50 for adults and $5.50 for students.
