Woman faces theft charges

She was banned from store in 2010

CRANBERRY TWP — A Beaver County woman Friday waived felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly stealing money from Wal-Mart through deception.

Danita L. Beasley, 29, of Aliquippa allegedly returned about $469 worth of items at the township Wal-Mart in March 2015 without receipts, according to police reports.

She also allegedly returned about $305 worth of merchandise without receipts to another Wal-Mart in Washington County in February 2015.

“These returned items were those commonly targeted during thefts,” the police report states.

Per store policy, when a return of merchandise is made without a receipt, the person making the return is issued an electronic merchandise credit card with an electronic monetary value equal to that of the returned merchandise.

However Beasley was not permitted to receive these funds because she is banned from entering any Wal-Mart property.

This stems from when Beasley was convicted of retail theft in 2010 after being apprehended at a Wal-Mart in Center Township, Beaver County.

She signed a notice of trespass in October 2010, “acknowledging she would face further criminal charges if she entered any Wal-Mart property.”

Beasley was placed in Butler County Prison on Dec. 24. She was released last Wednesday after posting her $10,000 bail.

Beasley faces charges of felony criminal trespass, theft by deception, receiving stolen property and unauthorized access by issuer.

She will be arraigned in county court on Feb. 21.
