Man charged in assault case

Girlfriend claims that he punched and kicked her

CRANBERRY TWP — An Allegheny County man faces charges of assault and harassment after allegedly punching his girlfriend last month.

Brandon P. Cavey, 27, of Imperial waived his charges Friday to county court after an incident with his girlfriend, Larissa Good, in the early hours of Thursday.

Good, a township resident, said she and Cavey were at the Twelve Whiskey Barbecue in Pittsburgh and had alcoholic beverages, according to police reports.

Cavey drove himself and Good to the latter’s residence on Marshall Road. While still in the car, the two got into an argument and Cavey punched Good “several times in the face,” the report states.

Good got out of the vehicle from the passenger side. Cavey also got out and continued to assault Good while in the home’s garage, “by punching her and kicking the victim in the face and side multiple times.”

According to the police report, Good was able to flee the area and sought refuge at a neighboring residence.

She suffered injuries to her nose and side, and told police she was having anxiety and asthma issues.

“The victim was extremely upset and had difficulty speaking,” the report states.

Cavey told police he had struck her in self-defense, the report states. He had a scratch above his right eye which he indicated was from the victim assaulting him.

Cavey was taken to the township police station’s holding cell and then transported to Butler County Prison. His bail was set at $10,000.

He faces one count of simple assault and one count of harassment.

Cavey will be arraigned in county court on Feb. 21.
