Butler PoliceSunday — Joseph G. Zampini Jr., 23, of Oakland Township was charged with making off with a woman’s debit card after she inadvertently left it in an automated teller machine at the Armco Employees Credit Union at Pullman Square.Police said they later learned that Zampini allegedly used the card twice to buy a combined $45.50 worth of gas at stores in Butler. He also tried to use it two other times, to withdraw $600 from an ATM and to buy $53 in merchandise from another Butler store, but was denied, according to court documents.He only admitted using the card to buy gas, police said, Afterward, documents said, he told police that he threw away the card and drove home.Zampini is charged with access device fraud.Butler Twp Police5:10 p.m. Monday — Marissa A. Matecka, 20, of Butler was hurt when she lost control of her car and crashed into a guardrail on Delwood Road near Oxcart Lane. Matecka was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Police cited her for driving too fast for conditions.

State Police, Butler10:54 p.m. Tuesday — Miriah L. Logan, 34, of Butler lost control of her sport utility vehicle and spun out, hitting a tree along Route 138 just west of Glenn Road in Clay Township. Logan, who was wearing a seat belt, was not hurt but her vehicle had to be towed. Police said she was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.9:36 p.m. Tuesday — A Venango County teenager fell asleep at the wheel and crashed her car into a guardrail on Interstate 79 just south of Pfeifer Road in Muddy Creek Township. The car lost its front passenger side tire assembly in the wreck. Police cited Shelby Heeter, 19, of Franklin for careless driving.6:29 p.m. Monday — An SUV driven by Kimberly S. Sainiak, 46, of Cranberry Township struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township.Monday — Christopher C. McGarvey, 19, of Butler was charged with drugged driving and drug possession in connection with an incident at a Butler Township restaurant last year.Police said they found McGarvey about 6:20 p.m. Dec. 27 passed out in the driver’s seat with the motor running at the Eat’n Park on New Castle Road.Troopers were unable to immediately rouse the suspect and after several minutes they entered the vehicle. In it, according to a police report, they found 40 stamp bags of suspected heroin, a syringe and spoon.McGarvey is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.

Grove City Police9:13 p.m. Monday — Leanna Davis, 21, of Grove City was arrested after she allegedly assaulted her mother, 40-year-old April S. Davis, during a domestic dispute at the mother’s home on the 500 block of North Broad Street.The younger Davis was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment. She is free on $15,000 unsecured bail. Police said they also cited April Davis for harassment.

State Police, Clarion1:53 a.m. Saturday — A 20-year-old Rimersburg man, who police did not further identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 68 in Piney Township.Police said when they got to the suspect’s car they smelled the odor of marijuana coming from it. A search of the vehicle later turned up unspecified drug paraphernalia.Drugged driving charges are pending toxicology results, according to a police report.

State Police, Franklin5:46 p.m. Monday — Tierra M. Lofton, 28, of Maple Heights, Ohio, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Barkeyville.

State Police, Kittanning4:50 p.m. Monday — A 39-year-old Worthington man and a 40-year-old Freeport man were injured when vehicles they were driving crashed on Route 28 in Tarentum, Allegheny County.Police did not identify the men, who were both taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, Allegheny County. The younger man is suspected of driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Charges are pending lab results.2:41 p.m. Monday — A 37-year-old Templeton man, who police did not identify, was arrested on a warrant after a traffic stop on Route 28/66 at Anderson Creek Road in Rayburn Township. Police said they seized unspecified drugs and related contraband during a vehicle search.Drug possession charges are pending against the man, who was driving the vehicle, and a passenger, a 29-year-old Kittanning woman, who police did not identify.

State Police, Mercer5:34 p.m. Tuesday — Carlisa M. Dixon, 22, of Slippery Rock lost control of her car and struck a tree along Black Run Road just north of West Valcourt Road in Liberty Township, Mercer County. Dixon and two passengers, who were all wearing seat belts, were not injured but her car had to be towed.8:17 a.m. Tuesday — Lindsay L. Grills, 27, of Slippery Rock lost control of his car and struck a ditch on snow-covered Route 258 just south of Brent Road in Liberty Township, Mercer County.Jan. 3 — An unknown suspect made off with a safe and a shotgun after breaking into Kimmell Auto Repair on Old Ash Road in Springfield Township. The burglary and theft happened between noon Jan. 2 and 8 a.m. Jan. 32:39 a.m. Dec. 25 — A 17-year-old Grove City girl, who police did not identify, was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance after her car crashed into a railroad tie on Schmidt Road in Liberty Township, Mercer County.The girl and her two passengers, both teenagers, were not injured. The car had to be towed. All three occupants were all wearing seat belts.

State Police, New Castle2:23 p.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by Timothy W. St. Clair, 56, of Ellwood City hit an ice patch, struck an embankment and rolled onto its passenger side on Hogue Road just west of Squaw Run Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. St. Clair, who was wearing a seat belt, was not hurt but his truck had to be towed.4:15 p.m. Sunday — One person was hurt in a one-car rollover wreck in Scott Township, Lawrence County. Bradley W. Pontius, 23, of Volant lost control of the car on ice-covered Route 19 just north of Sylvania Road.The vehicle hit a road sign and tree before flipping onto the roof. Pontius, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered an apparent minor injury. Police cited him for driving too fast for conditions.
