Cranberry hoops programs slated

Children as young as 6-years old will be eligible for co-ed basketball instruction during a six-week program being offered in Cranberry Township’s Municipal Center gymnasium starting Jan. 21.

Another six-session class for kids ages 8-10 begins Jan. 21 and a pre-teen basketball league for those 11-13 will start Feb. 5.

The instruction provided to participants in each age group builds on skills taught at the previous level. Basketball Dribblers (ages 6-8) will introduce team play.

Basketball Boys and Girls (ages 8-10) features advanced skills and rules.

The pre-teen league will include scoring, record-keeping and a playoff tournament.

Registration fee for Basketball Dribblers, which will meet 9-11 a.m. on Saturdays, is $60 for township residents and $65 for nonresidents.

Fees for Basketball Boys and Girls, which will practice 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays, are $65 and $75, respectively.

The pre-teen league will meet each Sunday from 1-3 p.m. All fees are payable at the time of registration.

Registration is available online at, by phone at 724-779-4386 or in person at the Parks and Recreation customer service desk.
