AFS/MISA meeting slated Wednesday

ADAMS TWP — The Mars High School American Field Service/Mars International Student Association chapter will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the high school.

The chapter is an international exchange program that welcomes high school students from around the world and offers scholarships to eligible students who are interested in traveling abroad.

The chapter also is seeking local families interested in learning about other cultures by hosting students from other countries.

Midterms, finals slated at Mars High

ADAMS TWP — Mars High School will administer mid-term/final exams, Jan. 17 to 20.

The high school bell schedule will be altered to accommodate the exams. All exam periods will be about 80 minutes and nonexam periods will be around 30 minutes, with four-minute breaks between all lunches and classes.

A two-hour delay schedule also is in place in the event that school is delayed because of inclement weather. To view all revised bell schedules, visit the “Mars Area High School” page at

Teen art club meets at library

ZELIENOPLE — The Zelienople Public Library’s Creative Teen Art Club will meet 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 17

Teens ages 13 to 17 are invited. Contact the library at 724-452-9330 to have your name added to the list. The program is free.
