Lucille E. Houk

Lucille E. Houk, 90, of New Castle passed away Thursday afternoon at the Haven Convalescent Home.

Born on April 6, 1926, in Lyndora, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Helen Slimack Adamsky.

On Aug. 25, 1956, she married her beloved husband, Charles Houk, and the two of them spent 27 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death in 1983.

Lucille was a member of the former People's Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

Lucille is survived by her children, Deborah Cousins and her husband, Thomas, of Bennettsville, S.C., Diane Hofius of Wexford, Donna Rhodes and her husband, Leroy, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Denise Monaco and her husband, Joseph, of New Castle, and Darlene Young and her husband, Dale, of Aliquippa; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her nine brothers and sisters.

HOUK — Visitation for Lucille E. Houk, who died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Homeand Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road, New Castle.Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev.
