Petruska notches 400th victory

Lauren Wasylson scored 25 points and also added 10 rebounds as the Mars girls basketball team rolled to a 68-43 win over Keystone Oaks Saturday afternoon to win the Slippery Rock Tournament.

The win was also the 400th for Mars coach Dana Petruska.

“I've always said it's not about me, it's about the kids,” Petruska said. “It's just another win.”

Tai Johnson added 16 points and Nicole McCloud 13 for Mars (2-0).

Wasylson was the tournament MVP and Tai Johnson was named to the all-tournament team.

Breen now has 1,878 points. She broke the mark that was held by current CWNC coach Molly Rottmann.

Slippery Rock 49, Keystone 44 — Sedona Campbell scored 23 points as the Rockets overcame a slow start to win the consolation game of the Slippery Rock Tournament.

Elena McDermott added 10 points for Slippery Rock (1-1).

Campbell was named to the all-tournament team.
