Convenience store robbed twice in 4 days

SLIPPERY ROCK TWP, Lawrence County — For the second time in four days, the same convenience store has been the target of an armed robbery.

State police believe Wednesday night’s holdup at the Tic Toc Food Mart on Ellwood Road is related to a similar crime last weekend. No one was injured in either stickup.

A police report did not indicate if investigators have any suspects.

The robber about 10:10 p.m. Wednesday entered the store armed with a handgun. He demanded money and other items,

Police said there were two people — a 47-year-old Ohio woman and a 20-year-old Ellwood City man — in the store at the time. The report did not identify either as an employee or customer.

The robber left with an unspecified amount of money and other items.

Police said in the prior robbery at the store about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, a man believed to be in his 20s brandished a handgun.

He told two clerks working behind the front counter to give him the money in the cash register. He walked away with an unspecified amount of money was last seen running east across the road.

The suspect is described as being between 5 feet, 9 inches and 5 feet, 11 inches tall, and about 180 pounds, and having light brown or blonde hair.

Along with the bandanna that partially covered his lower face, he was wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and blue jeans.

The police report did not provide any description of the robber in Wednesday’s holdup.
