Police seek robber

Thief took money from food mart

SLIPPERY ROCK TWP, Lawrence County — The manhunt continues for a robber suspected in the weekend stickup at a convenience store. No one was injured.

State police said a white man wearing a black bandanna over his face walked into the Tic Toc Food Mart on Ellwood Road about 9:30 p.m. Saturday and brandished what appeared to be a handgun.

The robber demanded the money from two clerks working behind the front counter. The man made off with an undetermined amount of money from the store’s cash register. He was last seen running east across the road.

The suspect is described as being in his early 20s, between 5 feet, 9 inches and 5 feet, 11 inches tall, and about 180 pounds, and having light brown or blonde hair.

Along with the bandanna that partially covered his lower face, he was wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and blue jeans.

Investigators did not say if they have any suspects or if the store was equipped with surveillance cameras. The store manager could not be reached for comment this morning.

Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 724-598-2211. Police noted that all calls would be kept confidential.
