Kyle Darville
Cranberry police investigate crash

CRANBERRY TWP — The name of the Cranberry Township man who died early Friday morning in a car accident on Powell Road was released by the Cranberry Township Police Department.

Kyle Darville, 32, was driving a Volvo station wagon north around 2 a.m. Friday when he struck a guardrail on his right near 2210 Powell Road. The vehicle then crossed the road and hit the left guardrail before flipping over several times down a hill and stopping about 80 feet from the road, according to Cranberry Township police Sgt. Chuck Mascellino.

Darville was partially ejected from the car through the driver’s side door. He was not wearing a seat belt. He died of head injuries, according to deputy coroner John Hanovick.

Police said that while the investigation continues, it appears that speed was a primary factor in the accident.
