Butler Township Police6 p.m. Nov. 11 — An unknown white male and white female tried to break into a gaming machine at the American Legion at 150 Legion Memorial Way in Lyndora. Anyone with information should call Butler Township police at 724-285-9600.Oct. 31 — A 14-year-old Butler Intermediate School student was charged with making terroristic threats through Juvenile Court Services.The male student sent numerous text messages to other students that detailed threats of violence to the school, according to Butler Township Lt. Matthew Pearson. Police determined that there was no factual foundation to these threats.

State Police, ButlerMonday-Tuesday — Between 4 p.m. Monday and 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, an unknown actor left five bags of garbage on the property of a 79-year-old male at 152 Snyder Lane in Oakland Township.The bags contained beer cans, bottles and food boxes. Anyone with information should contact Pennsylvania State Police Butler barracks at 724-284-8100.9:57 a.m. Nov. 17 — A two-vehicle accident happened on Route 422 in Clearfield Township.Richard A. Mittica, 19, of Saxonburg was driving a Chevrolet HHR turning left onto Route 422 from McGrady Road when the HHR hit the Buick Regal of Daniel J. Cappelli, who was heading east on Route 422.Neither Capelli, 33, of Mercer nor Mittica was injured. The HHR sustained severe damage on the front driver side and was towed, while the Regal sustained moderate damage on the passenger side and was driven from the scene.Mittica was cited with a turning violation.

State Police, Kittanning2:16 a.m. Thursday — A 25-year-old white male was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop on 115 Vandyke Road in South Buffalo Township.The vehicle was initially stopped for failing to yield for activated emergency lights on a marked state patrol vehicle.
