Man dies in early morning crash
CRANBERRY TWP - A 32-year-old man township died this morning when his vehicle went airborne into a ravine, according to deputy coroner John Hanovick.
The man, whose name was not released, was driving around 2 a.m. when he struck a guardrail on his right near 2210 Powell Road. The vehicle crossed all the way over to the left side of the road, jumping the guardrail and going down into a ravine.
The man was partially ejected from the car through the driver’s side door. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Hanovick said a high rate of speed was likely a factor in the crash.
Powell Road was closed for several hours following the crash.
