Butler PoliceWednesday — James L. Musser III, 35, no known address, was charged with receiving stolen property stemming from the theft of jewelry from a home in the 500 block of Bredin Street last month.Police linked Musser to the crime after learning that on Oct. 31 he had sold the items for $125 at Don Pauls Jewelers in Downtown Butler, according to court documents.Authorities recovered some of the stolen jewelry. Other pieces, however, were scrapped before police completed their investigation.Musser is no stranger to city police. He has been in the Butler County Prison since Nov. 4 when officers arrested him for burglarizing two city homes. Police subsequently filed four other cases against him including for the crimes of theft, receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.He remains in the county prison on $202,500 cumulative bail.

State Police, Butler2:15 a.m. Saturday — Christi Lee Reibers, 37, of New Castle was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 8 north in Butler Township. Police said a search of Reibers’ vehicle also turned up different medication prescribed to other people.She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Charges of drugged driving and drug possession are pending.1:02 a.m. Saturday — Lance R. Dasch, 46, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Benbrook Road near Brewster Road in Center Township.Saturday — An unknown burglar made off with $2,315 in property, including two televisions, one a 70-inch model; an Xbox One video game console; 20 Xbox games; two Xbox controllers; and 30 Blu-ray discs from a 21-year-old man’s home at South Rock Apartments in Slippery Rock Township.The suspect broke a ground-level window to get into the apartment between noon Wednesday and 11 p.m. Saturday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-288-8100.Saturday — Lisa Rupert, 46, of Schlocta, Indiana County, was four times the state’s legal limit for alcohol when she was stopped for suspected drunken driving on Route 422 eastbound between Route 8 and the Lyndora exit. She was arrested for suspicion of DUI.2:15 a.m. Thursday — William Ferguson, 20, of Kittanning was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance in the 200 block of East Cunningham Street in Butler.12:16 a.m. Thursday — Tanner A. Steele, 24, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of drugged driving on Main Street in Butler. Police said they also found him with suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.Charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession o a small amount of marijuana are pending lab results.Nov. 22 — Police charged an Allegheny County teenager with attacking another teen during an altercation between students at the Summit Academy reform school on Herman Road in Summit Township.The suspect, Kylee S. Lankford, 18, of McKeesport, is accused of pulling the seat from under Jorge Hernandez and then punching Hernandez at the facility’s cafeteria. Lankford was apparently angry that Hernandez had taken his seat at the table when he momentarily walked away to get a cup of milk, according to court documents.The victim was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital where he received five stitches above the left eye. Lankford is charged with simple assault and harassment.10:48 a.m. Nov. 15 — Raymond R. Andrews, 22, of Butler swerved his car to avoid another vehicle and struck a tree in Summit Township. He told police that he was eastbound on Herman Road just east of Schnur Road when the other vehicle pulled out on the road.Police cited Andrews for disregarding traffic lanes.Nov. 15 — Jeremy J. Broyan, 36, of Butler was charged with drunken driving stemming from a two-vehicle crash Nov. 12 in Center Township.Police said Broyan was hurt in the wreck about 12:40 a.m. Nov. 12 when his car collided with a sport utility vehicle on Route 8 near Route 308. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Ryan A. Fischer, 19, of Butler was the other driver.In addition to driving under the influence, Broyan is charged with disregarding traffic lanes, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving, reckless driving and not wearing a seat belt.10:52 p.m. Nov. 14 — A car driven by Gregory L. Basham rear-ended an SUV on New Castle Road just west of Moraine Drive in Muddy Creek Township. The crash forced the other vehicle, driven by Codie S. Rekasie 21, of Evans City, off the road and into a tree.Police cited Basham for following too closely to another vehicle.11:04 p.m. Nov. 3 — Thomas Ziacik, 54, of Cranberry Township was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Lindsay Road in Jackson Township.

State Police, Clarion9:46 p.m. Nov. 2 — Jeffrey C. Nemet, 37, of Clintonville was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 322 in Clarion Township.

State Police, Franklin8 p.m. Saturday — Shawn M. Kelley, 31, of Slippery Rock was stopped on Route 8 in Cornplanter Township driving a minivan that police later searched and turned up suspected marijuana and drug contraband. Police identified the owner of the van as Joseph Henry, 50, of Slippery Rock.The investigation continues and drug-related charges are pending.

State Police, KittanningMonday — Police reached out to the public in hopes of identifying the unknown suspect who assaulted a Worthington man in an alley behind the Worthington Baptist Church.The assailant attacked the victim who was walking two dogs in the alleyway. The man was taken to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh for injuries to the right eye. The victim was unable to provide police with any description of his attacker.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.2:49 a.m. Sunday — Carl Leroy Neal, 51, of Kittanning was arrested on charges he assaulted a 30-year-old man and 30-year-old woman at a home on Wilkinson Road in Pine Township, Armstrong County.Police said Neal punched, kicked and kneed both victims several times. Neal was arraigned on two counts each of simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $5,000 bail.1:30 a.m. Sunday — Jason S. Anderson, 38, of Applewold was arrested on charges he broke into a home in Worthington. Police suspect Anderson got into the house through the garage door. He is accused of taking several pieces of jewelry and household items.Police said when they arrested Anderson, they recovered the stolen property. He faces burglary and other charges.4:42 a.m. Saturday — A 23-year-old Cabot man was arrested for suspected drunken driving after his vehicle hit a guardrail and caught fire on Route 28 north near exit 12 in Springdale Township, Allegheny CountyThe suspect, who police, did not identify, was apparently not injured. DUI charges are pending lab tests.9:54 p.m. Thursday — A 23-year-old Cranberry Township man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after he was stopped for speeding on Route 422 in North Buffalo Township. DUI charges are pending lab tests.

State Police, New Castle7 p.m. Nov. 20 — Christian D. Simoni, 48, of Volant lost control of her car and struck a barn along Old Ash Road just north of McConahy Road in Plain Grove Township.Police cited Simoni for driving at an unsafe speed and accidents involving damage to unattended property.
