Ruth Ann Cheeseman Meier, 88, of Kiawah Island, S.C., formerly of Slippery Rock, passed away Oct. 22 at her home.

She was born March 12, 1928, to the late John W. Cheeseman and Thelma I. Harper Cheeseman.

A Grove City College graduate, Ruth was a librarian for Slippery Rock High School. She also was a self-employed yoga teacher.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Albert “Scotty” Meier.

She is survived by her two sons, Mark Meier of Indianapolis and Bruce (Teri) Meier of Butler; three grandsons, David Meier and Garrett and Jacob Dietrich; four great-grandsons, Mason and Hudson Meier and Dylan and Levi Dietrich; her sister, Jean (Conrad) Festa; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Ruth will be greatly missed.
