Elizabeth M. Hanna Baldrige

Elizabeth M. Hanna Baldrige, 96, of Cranberry Township, passed away on Friday in the early morning hours.

She was born Feb. 9, 1920, in Ohio, and was raised in Dormont by her Aunt Eva Booth, following the unexpected death of her mother. Her summers were spent in West Virginia with her father and other brothers and sisters; many of whom have passed on.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, C. Ray Baldrige.

Betty is survived by her seven children, Sandra McKinney (Charles), Martha DeMare (Robert), Charles (Deborah Barr), Mary Lou Orga (William), James (Cynthia DGiacomo), Margaret “Peggy” Dressler (Harry) and Timothy (Marolyn Burns); her 16 grandchildren, Debra Dutko, Scott McKinney, Chris McKinney, Richard DeMare, Cheri Stolberg, Katie Morton, David Baldrige, Michael Baldrige, Erin Orga, Daniel Orga, Kevin Baldrige, Brian Baldrige, Greg Dressler, Jack Dressler, Rachel Baldrige and Kelly Lemon; her 20 great-grandchildren, Lindsay Dutko, Randy Dutko, Zachary Dutko, Robert Charles McKinney, Brad Butler, Greg Butler, Maxwell DeMare, Jacob DeMare, Abigail DeMare, Sofia DeMare, Coleman Stolberg, Chase Stolberg, Elisha Morton, Caroline Baldrige, Patrick Baldrige, Joshua Smith, Alex Dressler, Ava Dressler, Daniel Dressler and Aubrey Dressler; and her three great-great-grandchildren, Lidia Butler, Brayden Butler and Vivian Butler.

Betty was the loving sister of Mary Hanna Collins, Lois Hanna Sheppard, Bill Hanna and Sharon Hanna Sprague and the late Clayburn “Spud” Hanna, Virginia Hanna Criner, Janet Hanna Tanner, Jim Hanna and Glen Hanna.

A woman of deep abiding faith, Betty devoted her life to raising her children and creating a strong, loving, close-knit family. She was very involved in the church, the Dormont Mother’s Club, Scouting, PTA, Work for the Blind and many other volunteer projects. She loved to read, travel, quilt, do crossword puzzles, garden and spend time with her extended family.

A resident of Dormont most of her life, she and her husband retired to Elizabeth, W.Va., to her country roots. She moved to Cranberry Township in 1995 and was a member of Dutilh United Methodist Church, where she greatly enjoyed Bible study and fellowship groups. Betty taught her family to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation and many excursions into the great outdoors. She had a very generous and giving heart and supported many charitable causes.

BALDRIGE — Visitation for Elizabeth M. Hanna Baldrige, who passed away Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.

A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Dutilh United Methodist Church, 1270 Dutilh Road, Cranberry Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dutilh United Methodist Church, 120 Dutilh Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066 or Good Samaritan Hospice, 3500 Brooktree Road, Wexford, PA 15090, where she spent her final days in a very peaceful, caring environment, before completing her journey to her heavenly home.
