Leroy “Butch” E. Gall

Leroy “Butch” E. Gall, 80, of Butler died Wednesday morning at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 14, 1936, in Butler, he was a son of the late Leroy Emile Gall and Evelyn Conrad Gall.

Butch graduated from Butler High School in 1954. He then enlisted and served for three years in the U.S. Marine Corps, attaining the rank of sergeant.

He worked at the Butler ARMCO Works in the Hot Mill maintenance department as an electrician and turn foreman, retiring after 31½ years.

He was co-founder of the C.L.B. Hunting and Fishing Club, now known as the Summit Township Sportsman Club, where he served in various offices. He was a member of the American Legion Post 117 in Butler, where he volunteered for the Toys For Tots program, and he was a lifetime member of the M.C.L. Bantam Marines Detachment 743 in Butler. He also was a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Center Township and had enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra A. Sychak Gall; one son, Jon C. (Shannon) Gall of Medina, Ohio; one daughter, Sharilyn (Shon) Wright of Butler; four grandchildren, Samantha and Austin Sydlik and Brooke and Matthew Charney; three stepgrandchildren, Natalie, Sophie and Xander Wright; one brother, Robert Gall of Chambersburg, Pa.; two sisters, Toni Edwards of Butler and Judith (Robert) Dougherty of The Villages, Fla.; and his mother-in-law, Josephine Sychak of Butler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Wolf.

GALL — Friends of Leroy “Butch” E. Gall, who died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church on North Main Street Extension in Butler. The Rev.
