Public Celebration set for next monthButler Downtown’s Annual Public Celebration will be held 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at The Grand Ballroom at 201 S. Main St.Attendees will be served appetizers and beverages while Butler Downtown provides a recap of 2016 and outlines goals for 2017.DeWalt Health Foods will be honored as the business of the year, while Don Shearer will be honored as the volunteer of the year.Past Butler Downtown president Meredith Glendening, as well as the Butler County Historical Society, for the Butler Brush-Up event, also will be recognized.Dorothy and Lance Calvert, of Brushes & Barstools, will be guest speakers.

Arby’s to sell venison sandwichesATLANTA — Deer hunting season is on the way, but fans of venison might not have to trek out into the woods this year to get their fix.Arby’s has announced that it will be offering venison sandwiches this fall in six states where deer hunting is popular.The Atlanta-based chain says its sandwich will include thick-cut venison steak and crispy onions on a roll.The venison sandwich will be available for a few days at select restaurants from Monday to Nov. 28 in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Tennessee and Georgia.

Sears sweetens rewards offerHOFFMAN ESTATES, Illinois — Sears is sweetening the rewards for its MasterCard customers linked to its loyalty program, letting them earn more points at many stores.Sears Holdings Corp., which operates Sears and Kmart stores, says that starting Nov. 1, more than 5 million Sears MasterCard holders will earn more rewards linked to the retailer’s Shop Your Way program through Dec. 31, 2017.The new offer lets Sears MasterCard customers get up to 5 percent from their purchases at a variety of stores from gas stations to restaurants to redeem at Sears and Kmart stores.
